SWIM COURSES: Swim portion will begin on the beach near the volleyball net poles. A "time-trial" method will be used to start the race, led by those registered in the Clydesdale/Athena category.
sprint distance (750 yards)
Swim out 150 yards to the first buoy. Make a left and swim 400 yards to the next buoy. Make a left and swim 100 yards (under the bridge). Make a left and swim 100 yards back to shore. Take footpath back to the transition area.
mini-sprint distance (75-100 yards)
two options this year...
1. Swim around the "Big Dock" and return to shore. Water is 15+ feet deep (100 yds)
2. Simply swim (or even walk) parallel to shore in 4 feet of water (75 yds)
*Lifeguards will be stationed throughout the swim course, both in the water and on kayaks. You may use kayaks to rest, but not to advance.
