Here's what people are saying about our triathlon
Thank you for the Hopkins Royal Triathlon. This was my first triathlon (along with my first race in 2+ years & my first time competing swimming or biking). The event was incredibly accessible and well organized. I expect I'll be signing up next year.
Take care,
Alison A.
Though I am disappointed and embarrassed with my shockingly poor performance yesterday (!), I want to somehow thank the gentleman who was on the paddleboard between the swim start and the first buoy (was he considered a "swim angel?") I had to stop at his board to refocus myself--I babbled to him about how "once upon a time, I was a competitive swimmer but open water continues to cause me great anxiety." He talked me through my distress and though I ended up breast-stroking 3/4 of the swim leg (for Pete's sake!), I heard him continue to encourage me all the way around the last buoy. I was ready to surrender, but he talked me out of it and I am very grateful for his help and coaching. Please, please thank him for me, whoever he was--he saved me from my first DNF. You did a wonderful job of organizing this race and it was a really nice event--THANK YOU!

Thanks for a great event. I was impressed with how well organized it all was with so many great details with food, music, prizes, support from volunteers. What I appreciated most was how friendly and welcoming the event was for us beginners. You did a great job making it feel accessible to those of us with injuries who have never done one of these before. Doing a triathlon has been one of my dreams since I was 18yo (almost 30yrs), but I did not think it was possible because of my multiple injuries and surgeries (ankle, both knees, shoulder). This Mini Tri was doable even with my injuries and helped me fulfill my long held dream.
Thank you,
Shana S.
Another amazing event! Thanks again for making it so easy for all of us newbies to participate. See you next year!
Best regards,
Maureen S.
Thanks so much for a great race yesterday! It was fun, friendly, and really well run. Thank you for all of your hard work - thanks also to all of the volunteers.
Best,
Deborah Z.
I want to thank you for the wonderful event - I can imagine the work and time that goes into pulling an event like that off and we really appreciate it. It was my daughter’s (13) first attempt at a tri and she loved it. Your event is a perfect one for people who are new to the sport… it can be very intimidating and your event was very welcoming and non-threatening. My husband was there to support us and several times he commented that he would like to try it next year (he has never participated before either). Thank you also to the wonderful volunteers!
Best,
Jill H.
Thanks for all the hard work you and your staff put in- my wife and I had a blast! Because of the heat we ended up walking ½ of the run portion, but will train better for next year. Very well organized and we really enjoyed meeting lots of new people.
Take care!

Just a quick note to say thank you. I raced on Saturday (slow, but finished) and you, your team and the volunteers put on an amazing triathlon. I will definitely be back next year. So happy the weather finally cooperated and allowed for a full triathlon rather than a duathlon which sometimes happens with bad weather. And my favorite.... root-beer floats.
Best,
Cheryl O.
I filled out the survey as well but I wanted to congratulate you separately on a job well done on the Royal tri. I know it’s a ton of work but it was really well thought out and executed. I raced a lot in the early 90’s through the early 2000’s so this was my first race in about 13 years and I had a lot of fun. I’m glad you postponed the start for a little while because people do want to race as well as perform all three disciplines. Great job and keep up the good work.
