SWIM-Off to Summer

On May 31, 2025, the Hopkins Royal Triathlon will once again be offering a fun event to promote multi-sport activities in our state. It will feature an open water (swim only) competition, with 3 different swim distances to choose from. Plus, we will be inviting event Directors from all over the state to come out to let you know about their events during our post-race BBQ! As an extra bonus, we will also be hosting a gear swap meet (aka: garage sale) so start putting things aside now!
NEED A LITTLE MORE INCENTIVE? Many race directors have donated free entries into their events for our door prizes!
Also, the event is limited to 200 participants and sold out by the end of April last year.
ACTIVITIES:
Swim Event- option of .3-mile (Sprint), .9-mile (Olympic), or a 1.2-mile (Half IM) distance
Race Director Expo- come learn (from representatives) what events and activities are happening this summer
Swap Meet- bring any gear (bikes, parts, clothing, etc.) you want to sell or come see what hidden gems you might find
Post Event Potluck BBQ-bring something to share if you'd like!
SCHEDULE:
8-8:30 Check in (get your race number, swim cap, etc.)
9:00 Swim starts (Half IM, Olympic, then Sprint)
(waves 2 minutes apart)
10-11:30 Post Race Food, Race Expo, & Swap Meet
10:30 Awards and door prizes
NOTES:
1. The lake could be a little chilly,
so wet suits are recommended (but NOT required)
Want to buy/rent a wetsuit? Contact Gear West in Long Lake
2. We will have plenty of lifeguards, kayaks, and boats on hand, but NOT "swim angels" (they want to swim too!)
3. In order to do 1.2 miles, participants will first swim the (.9 mile) Olympic course AND then the (.3 mile) Sprint course.
4. Expo, potluck, and swap meet open to all, not just participants.

Chisago Triathlon, TimberMan, MN Masters, GraniteMan Big Lake, Buzz Ryan Tri, Zorbaz, Gear West, Trinona, TC Open Water 1/2 Marathon Series, Hopkins Royal Tri, & SWIM-Off to Summer
