REGISTRATION OPTIONS
Sprint: (600 yard swim/12.5 mile bike/5K run) Start off with a nice swim in beautiful Lake Ann, open water training ground for many local triathletes. Next, bike (2) six mile loops with all right hand turns and some elevation change on the north side. Finish with a scenic run along the lake and into the quiet Greenwood Shores neighborhood, before returning to the park and finish line.
mini-sprint: (100 yard swim/6 mile bike/1 mile run) If you've ever thought about doing a triathlon, but aren't sure you're ready for a traditional triathlon distance, or have some limitations and can't do the full distances in one or more of the areas, then we might have the solution to what keeps you from TRI'ing. We are proud to offer a "mini-sprint" distance. You get to start and finish with all of the athletes BUT you get to decide (on race day) if you want to do the longer or the shorter distance for each segment of the triathlon. (Note: The mini-sprint is purely for personal enjoyment and friendly competition and will not have awards)
VIP Charity Slot option: ($100) For those that really want to get in to our event, we have an opportunity to do that, while at the same time benefiting the local community. By registering for a "VIP charity slot", you are able to still register for either the sprint course or the mini-sprint course, and the money (all $100) goes to the local youth groups volunteering at our triathlon. It's a cool win-win for everyone involved. Plus, you get to park close to the transition area on race day, and get the best bike rack spots in the transition area.
Athena Category: Most doing the Sprint triathlon will be "competing" against other people in their age group. However, some will be competing as "Athenas". The Athena category is an option for "full figured" women to compete against similar women (just like the men can when they sign up for the Clydesdale category, only Athena sounds so much more cooler!) Either way, it's your choice! Those registered as Athenas will start near the beginning of the triathlon on the swim and have prime spots in the transition area, complete with chairs. (Note: Athena option is only available to those registering for the Sprint distance)
